Cursive writing

Today, I printed a cursive writing table for my class.

There are differences between fonts on computer and hand writing.

But the one I used is the closest I can get.

If you want, you can download and try it at home too.

Open and decompress the downloaded file,

Copy files with ttf at the end to "c:\windows\fonts"

Then, you can use it in applications

English Lesson: Gossip and Rumors

I saw a post in Facebook asking about the difference between "gossip" and "rumor".

So I think I will explain a little here.

"Gossip" is information about a person or something that's usually private and true.

"Rumor" usually start by mouth and the information are not necessarily true. This piece of information can be passed by word of mouth.

So in other words, "gossip" is true facts and "rumor" may not be true or no one knows if it is true.

Funny English Song

Today I shared a funny song with my class. It’s called 『I Feel Terrible』.

The lyrics are below, but due to copyright issue, you need to log in to eClass to listen to the song.

The video is the tune, see if you can song-along?

I’ve got a headache,
I’ve got a headache.
I don’t want to go to bed.

I’ve got a fever,
I’ve got a fever.
I don’t want to do my homework.

I’ve got a stomach ache,
I’ve got a stomach ache.
I don’t want to eat my lunch.

I’ve got a blister,
I’ve got a blister.
I don’t want to see my sister.

Every time I get a headache,
mama takes me to the doctor.

Every time I get a fever,
mama takes me to the nurse.

Every time I get a toothache,
mama takes me to the dentist.

Every time I see the dentist,
I always come home feeling worse.

English Lesson: Each and Every

I used to answer questions about english in e-mail.

but I think I better write about "each" and "every" here,
as I think quite a number of student may make mistakes.

Most of the time, "each" and "every" has the same meaning and usage.

e.g.: Every / Each boy has a toy gun ( every = each )

- - - - - - - - - -

But one of the main difference is

"each" needs only two of the object; and "every" needs at least three.

例 e.g.: There are flowers on each side of the road
(You cannot use "every", because there are only TWO sides, but you can use "both" )

- - - - - - - - - -

Another more distinct difference is "each" means "every single one"
and "every" has a meaning of "all"

例 e.g.: rain is coming form every directions
( You cannot use "each", but you can use "all" )

- - - - - - - - - -

例 e.g.: I go swimming nearly every Sunday.
(You cannot use nearly each Sunday" )

Understood?

The Sound of Music

Doe, a deer, a female deer

(Doe,
Ray, a drop of golden sun
(Ray,
Me, a name, I call myself
Far, a long long way to run...
(Far,
Sew, [讀:so] a needle pulling thread
(Sew,
La, a note to follow so
TEA, a drink with jam and bread
(Tea,
That will bring us back to DOE
